John Moll III, born November 13, 1796, died 1883, was the son of John Moll II. John Moll III bought the Allentown gunsmith buiness from his father John Moll III on April 11, 1820. With the outpreak of the Civil War (1860) his son William H. Moll was taken into the business.

62" full stocked flintlock rifle, part octagonal part round 47" barrel, brass butt plate, patch box, trigger guard, ramrod pipes, marked +J. MOLL+ on the top of the barrel, curly maple stock.
